Day Events
Camp Mattatuck offers plenty of options for your pack, troop, patrol, district, or any other group's gatherings during the year. Whether you just need a big field to run some activities or you want to come up and use the volleyball court and have a picnic, Camp Mattatuck has options for you. Other than those areas that have specific charges (pavilions, C.O.P.E., climbing, the ranges) there is a nominal fee to participate in a day event at Camp Mattatuck (contact CT Rivers Council for specifics). This fee helps to offset the cost of the yearly maintenance that keeps the grounds in excellent condition for your events. The following are just some of the day events that your group can partake of on the ground and for which this fee applies:
- Having an event in one of the activity fields
- Using the volleyball court
- Day hiking in Camp (or parking at Camp and walking through to the Mattatuck Trail)
- Fishing in the lake
- Meetings in the ampitheater
If you don't see an event listed please contact CT Rivers Council for availability of the facility. Generally these events are designed for weekend use, but weekday exceptions can be made based on availability of Camp Masters and the Ranger.
